Hair Care

I am not super girly when it comes to my hair. Most of the time, I end up throwing it back in a ponytail because I just can't be bothered. In fact, even when I do take the time to style it and make it look somewhat presentable it inevitably starts to get on my nerves and ends up in a ponytail anyway. I also never seem to make it to the salon for haircuts as often as they recommend. In fact it is usually four to five months before I realize just how badly I need a haircut and this is usually only because it is irritating me more than usual.

Despite my complete and utter disregard for caring for my hair, I am quite picky about who cuts it. It is a rare thing for me to walk out of a salon liking the way it was both cut and styled. In fact, there was a time when I was so picky and so scared of change that haircuts would actually make me nervous. I have come a long way. Still, I was quite happy when I found both a stylist and salon that I liked (on the first try!) when I moved last year. She cut and styled my hair well, the salon wasn't overpriced and she wasn't super chatty. Those are two other reasons I don't like salons...I hate paying so much for a hair cut and I hate the chit chat stylists seem to expect. I'm paying you to cut my hair, not be entertained, so pay attention to it! Anyway, I was upset when I called to make an appointment today only to find she had left! And of course they couldn't tell me where she went.  Why can't people be dependable, suck it up and stay at their jobs??

Anyway, I made an appointment with a new chick. She spent the entire time chitter chattering and pretending to be interested in my personal life. That is in between the comments on how uneven my hair was, and how shapeless, and how grown out and how the drug store products that I use are horrible. I hate when the stylists try to sell their salon's products. I've fallen for it in the past. And she didn't believe me when I told her every time I change from my current regimen my hair gets straw dry and super coarse. At least she explained why they were supposedly better. And so I bought her products. And I will use them exclusively. And I will make the second appointment (before July 4th, cause she chastised me on waiting too long in between visits). And I will prove to her and her shampoo 'chemistry' lessons and her snide comments that she is not all that and a bag of potato chips.

PS-Living Social is now on my 'Deep S*it' list. So please continue to refuse to use them. Thank you and Goodnight.
